In this made-up tale, a group of valiant British soldiers is sent on a mission to save an American scientist and his work on the atomic weapon from the Germans. In a mushy sentimental scene at the start of the war, Jack Wallace, whom we first meet, assures his small daughter that he will survive. Six years later, Wallace is required to complete one last dangerously suicidal assignment before he can fulfill his commitment.
