Bodkin Season 1

The show “Bodkin” seems self-aware as a meta take on murder-mystery shows, but creator Jez Scharf doesn’t delve deep into the genre. The series relies heavily on well-known true crime tropes without offering a fresh perspective or exploring their origins. It’s not quite a parody and falls short as a standalone mystery. Ultimately, Dove’s skepticism towards the genre seems to be the most insightful viewpoint, with Scharf seemingly ready to move on from it after spending hours reenacting another crime. While Dove isn’t directly responsible for the events in “Bodkin,” she is the central character.
