The Monkey is a 2025 American black comedy horror film, Osgood Perkins is both writer and director. Stephen King’s 1980 short story inspires this film and features a cast that includes Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, Christian Convery. The narrative centers on twin brothers whose lives are dramatically altered by a cursed toy monkey that brings about a series of random and horrific fatalities in their vicinity. In 1999, Petey Shelburn attempted to return and destroy a drum-playing toy monkey at an antique shop. However, before he can accomplish this, the monkey begins to play its drums, triggering a chain reaction that results in the shop owner being disemboweled by a harpoon gun. Shortly thereafter, Petey vanishes, leaving his wife Lois to care for their identical twin sons, Hal and Bill.
