Mother is doing her hardest to maintain the lives of her two boys, Nolan and Samuel. The group of three people reside in the midst of the forest and are attempting to keep their distance from The Evil, an unidentified force that has taken over the planet and is tempting survivors to commit horrible, deadly acts when they come into contact with it. While the matriarch battles with evil visions of deceased loved ones transformed into lizard people, Mother uses a system of survival to keep everyone linked to the sacred dwelling, allowing them to enter the wilderness and search for sustenance.
