It takes place at California in 1976 where Gru is a 11-year-old schoolkid whose family beginnings are as yet muddled. At the point where the other famous children are gotten after school by their parents, he is joined by odd little thingies, who end up having addressed his needed promotion for help around the house and whose own natural beginnings are likewise a secret.
