In the 1940s, Leonard Bernstein was gaining recognition as a composer for his complex works, and a lot of people had great expectations for him. Before the actress Felicia Montealegre knocked him out, he was a man-lover. They fell in love and were married shortly after, as she inspired him in ways he had never seen before. Despite his rise to prominence in Hollywood, Leonard never stopped looking for more elaborate compositions since there was a growing need for deeper, more complex sounds.
