Currently awaiting trial for the murders of five individuals, including talk show host Murray Franklin, Arthur is housed in Arkham State Hospital. Unwilling to enjoy the consequences of his Joker identity, Arthur finds himself imprisoned and harassed by the guards—Jackie especially likes to shove the prisoner around. Arthur notices Lee, who has been smitten with the media celebrity, during a visit to the low security wing. Lee seizes the opportunity to cuddle up to Arthur, who reacts favorably to the attention. D.A. Harvey Dent wants to put Arthur in the electric chair. His crimes as the trial gets underway, but the accused isn’t interested in a fight in the courtroom.
