“Grafted” is the first film that co-writer and director Sasha Rainbow has directed. The picture is packed with macabre visuals related to the idea of stolen identity through the exchange of flesh. Its release date isn’t the best because it comes so soon after “The Substance”. It did well at the box office and with its arrangement of body horror, impressed critics. Although there are some similarities, they are not painful because Rainbow tends to project her own personality into the image. This provides a graphic knowledge of one Chinese woman’s approach to skin grafting technology and the blood that must be shed in order to achieve biological success.
