With the viability of the entire program in jeopardy, NASA director Cole faced pressure from above to bring to the moon in 1969. A mysterious guy employed by President Nixon, Moe is entrusted with making a big deal out of the launch. To that end, he hires Kelly, an advertising executive from New York City, to spearhead an effort to change the mission’s tone and make NASA more accessible to the general public and commercial partners. Busy with technical minutiae, Cole rejects the plan. He is helpless in Kelly’s presence—a force of nature determined to sell Apollo 11 to the general public. As launch day approaches as Kelly and Cole become closer. Moe starts to cause problems by insisting that the marketing whiz plan a ruse.
